Introducing new features of Sat2Farm App

India is poorly prepared to tackle the extreme climate condition. Nearly 70% of a small, and marginal group of farmers in India are frequently exposed to a variety of production risks such as 35-40% crop loss per year, extreme climate hotspots for 75% of districts over India, around 35% of produce under pest disease attacks, up to 40% irrigation inefficiency or mismanagement, and declining groundwater resources by 61%  between 2007 and 2017, amongst many.

The Satyukt team has developed a user-friendly and real-time-based mobile application called “Sat2Farm”. This application works on an android based platform built for the farmers to get farm-level advisory free of cost. Sat2Farm has come up with a lot of exciting features which will boost you up for monitoring your farm.

How to check if the farm is successfully uploaded?

Sat2Farm allows you to register your farm/s, using the add icon on the home page. Once you are done adding your farm using the walk/draw option. You see a symbol over the farm that you have recently added. If the symbol is red in color, then the farm is not sent to the server. This happens due to low / no connectivity. If the symbol is green in color, then the farm is successfully sent to the server.

How to get the area of the farm?

It is usually not an easy task to calculate the farm area. Farmer measures the farm by walking around the boundaries holding a measuring tape. But, with Sat2Farm once a farm is registered you can see the area of the farm,  under the Information section. Also, the units can be changed by choosing the Area conversion option from the top-right menu.

Acre, Hectare, Kaccha Bigha & Pucca Bigha are the conversion options available.

How to delete a farm?

If you no longer want information about a farm or you have added an incorrect farm, then you can delete them right away. You just need to long-press the farm and tap on Delete and the farm will no longer be on your list.

How to get an advisory for an infected part of a crop?

Usually, it will be difficult to get the correct advisory from any source until there is a visit to the farm. With the Sat2Farm app, you can click pictures of the infected part of the crop and get the appropriate advisory from our experts remotely. Farmers can also describe the clicked picture.
