Automation of Farm Boundary Digitization
Agriculture is the vital key parameter in food security and the economic growth of most of the countries in the world, especially in India. The word digitization is gaining more weightage day by day in the agricultural world.
When land is inexpensive and vast it becomes difficult to keep tracking boundaries by expensive manual surveys and equipment. Also, this is a tedious job. Complexity increases when the land has some unusual shapes. This problem can easily be solved by the digitization of boundaries. But again when land is vast manual digitization using some GIS editing software makes tasks difficult.
Over the years, many approaches have been proposed to delineate the farm boundaries using semi-automatic and automatic methods. Normal edge detection methods fail to detect the farm boundaries most of the time. There is a limited capacity for low and medium resolution satellite images to provide accurate and reliable information for the field. They are not further suitable in crop rows detection even due to the small size of the elements to detect. Extracting farm boundaries from high-resolution satellite images is a big problem due to having a complex structure on the ground environment.

Here, we at Satyukt Analytics utilize a combination of multi-satellite based algorithms to detect farm boundaries based on full automation of digitization. Both Sentinel-1 and 2 are employed in order to offer the fully automatic digitization for a particular farm boundary.
